For this sidewalk chalk writing installation, participants use "CARE" as an acrostic to depict four people or things they care about. This acrostic is enclosed in a heart shape. To activate the installation, the artists will stencil the word "CARE" onto the sidewalk at various intervals on 14th Street. Chalk will be provided at specific locations for audience members to pay homage to important people in their lives who have shown care or whom they care about. The acrostic serves as an accessible medium for participants to interact with the installation. Upon completion, participants will draw a heart shape around their acrostic. The project allows participants to celebrate and acknowledge those who care for them, benefiting all passersby by reminding them of the people in their lives who provide care.
