In the performance Care(ier), Rachelle Beaudoin will wear six baby carriers on her front, back, and legs to transport plants that have historically been used for women's health. Wearing the doll-sized carriers on her legs and a carrier on the front and back makes it difficult to walk, emphasizing the mental and invisible load of parenting. Using plants layers the idea of caring for nature and other types of mothering. The struggle to move and walk while wearing the carriers demonstrates the difficulty of both types of care and women's role as primary caregivers.
