This roaming wearable fabric sculpture invites human participants to engage with the non-humans that are part of our shared ecosystem. By moving together within the fabric web, participants visualize interdependence and explore shared vulnerability. The project aims to discover lichens and other non-human entities in the urban environment, leading embodied experiences and conversations that foster appreciation for these overlooked lifeforms.

The Lichen Likers (Alex Buchan, Amy Youngs, Anna Arbogast, Doosung Yoo, Jiara Sha, Madison Blue) are a collective inspired by lichens and their resilient, collaborative, and queer lifestyles. They create art that reflects the symbiosis between fungi and algae, giving voice to these often-overlooked communal lifeforms.
